Interesting (and Sad) Statistics

Looking at how my posting has been going on this particular blog, its interesting and sad stats to look at. The year Lily was born, 2005, I had 34 posts. The next year was down to 18, and I don't know what happened in 2007, maybe it was the new house and stuff, but I only posted twice for the whole year. And one of those posts were 2 weeks into that year, and one in March. This year is shaping up to be better, even though I didn't post until half way through the year. Since its been a light year for pictures, here's a picture that Lily drew.

What Am I Up To?

Since I've been getting responses lately that I should post more stuff now that I'm posting, I thought I should point out that I do post on other sites quite regularly.

Twitter. I'm on it at least 5 times a day, and check it more often than email or my RSS feeds. I post on it at least weekly.

Tumblr. Right now it's what I post to the most (next to Posterous, see below), I may end up pointing my noisepark.net domain to it once I design a template for it.

Facebook. If you ever find my status to be weird on Facebook, its because it comes from my tweets on Twitter. Either place will give my bizarre stream of ramblings. My tumblr blog should show up there as well, but the app for it is always broken. I am on Facebook at least twice a day. Those of my family that read this blog need to hang out on FB more because its like going to a family birthday party and seeing who's there and what their up to. I have 35 friends now, so its my one-stop-shop for seeing what's up with everybody.

Posterous. Posterous is my new blog, its brand new and I like their approach, I can email my post, and have it send that same post to all my blogs simultaneously. So it's really a catch-all for all my favorite links that find. If its not on Facebook or Posterous, then it didn't happen. Posterous is where I like to bookmark sites and comment on them.

There, that's where I can be found. This blog is showing its age.

15 Months Later...

So it's been well over a year since I posted on this blog. Jill has quite an entertaining blog that I love reading regularly, since it is actually posted to regularly!

Though I may not actually have much to post here, I should at least make it known that I have not fallen off of the side of the earth. If I was a member of the Flat Earth Society I may have believed I had, but alas, the earth is round and here I am. As you can see, I can't even make a joke. Jill has much better delivery. The Flat Earth Society reference probably didn't even register as any sort of joke, as I'm sure you are re-reading what I wrote about falling off of the side of the earth (get it now?). Of course, now that I think of it, if I believed the earth was flat, then it wouldn't have a side I guess.

As for an update on what's happening, that puddle you see Lily jumping in below is still there. She is now much older and potty trained. And most of my goings on will be found on Facebook, Tumbler, or Twitter, since all three of them require very little effort on my part. I'm not quite ready to abandon this blog though. (Even though it has been abandoned for more than a year.

When I get around to writing an application that will post to all of my various sites, including noisepark.net and my other blogger account I might actually be motivated to post something.

While I'm here, I may as well post a picture.

I got a new MacBook, so Lily and I had some fun with PhotoBooth. I guess this picture is what she would look like if she were an anime character. I don't want to know what you think I look like.

They're installing the sprinkler system at our place and it's created a rather large, dirty puddle in our driveway. Lily found it today and had plenty of good, clean (ha) fun.

Its been a few months since the last post! This weekend we FINALLY moved into our new home. We still have some unpacking to do before our office is usable. In the meantime, the iBook is in the kitchen on a card table so we have use of a computer and the internet. The Mac upstairs may not see power for a few more days when we clear out the boxes of stuff we need to find a place for. Our first night here was on the 1st and we got a little cold because we didn't have the thermostat figured out right. Now that we've been in for a few days, we are at the point where we run around the house trying to find stuff that we need that hasn't been unpacked yet.

Yesterday we went by our new place to see it's progress. The outside is basically done (sans landscaping) and the inside is being painted. The building next to ours has carpet and appliances in already.

Our New House—Framing

Our home is being built in Tooele and we are so excited. The front will be stucco and brick. These pictures are from June 11th. So far they have put in the drywall and should be adding the molding and doors soon.
The first picture is taken from the kitchen, looking through the stairs and half bath into the living room.

The other day Jill and I were watching television, while Lily was playing in the corner. I happened to look over and found she has taken a Tupperware full of muffins and proceeded to destroy some of them.

Jill bought Lily some new clothes and took some pictures of her. That last picture looks like Lily is trying to model.

Lily Update

Lily's been growing up quickly. This week she started standing by herself and has really good balance. I imagine she will be walking by the end of the month. It's hard to believe that she will celebrate her first birthday next month! She is just a wonderful girl, full of smiles. She has now transitioned off of the bottle and formula. She loves green beans and Cheerios. She also loves playing the piano, eating cookies, and dancing.

Lily turned 5 months old a week ago and she's getting so big! She loves to stand up, and she loves to eat squash. When we go on walks she loves to look at the trees, and always wants to look out the window when we're at home. She is probably only a few days from crawling. The other day she scooted by her self, and she loves rolling on her tummy and sticking things in her mouth to test her little tooth.

Nobody likes them, nobody reads them, their just an annoyance. I feel like I've sold out because I posted one on our website. Its even an animated gif. I was asked if I would put an ad on the agronomy page for one of our suppliers. They're bring us in millions in revenue, so they want to be seen. For now its there, but it remains to be seen how long it will stay. I just feel sick to my stomach knowing I put an ad up.
While I'm on the subject of ads, the new Opera web browser is out, its fantastic. And the ads are pretty low key, like the Google AdSense ads. I still don't see paying $40 for a web browser though.
